The chimponaut theme stems from Monkey News on a Ricky Gervais podcast. I had no idea that the chimps launched into space in the 1960's were called chimponauts. It's such an official title for a role forced on these hapless monkeys. Here's the time magazine article on the chimponauts, http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,895774,00.html. I especially love that this chimponaut was a 'meditative chimp.'

Seems like a random situation and an ironic title that could apply to many of us.
